OER Workshops across Poland – all week!

Digital Centre in 2015 has engaged in Open Education Week by offering educators an implementation of the “Open Lesson” – a short workshop for their colleagues introducing the idea of open education. There will be over 20 workshops in different cities of Poland organized during Open Education Week and we hope for even more afterwards.

The purpose of this workshop is primarily to familiarize the group with the idea of openness in education and to present simple but tangible benefits that are associated with the choice of openness model. We do not want to go into the details of the legal aspects of free licenses and open materials, nor to present a wide range of licensing of their own materials. We hope to engage teachers who have very little knowledge about open educational materials and do not see the benefits the OER in their work. We are aware that only a small percentage of teachers are ready to create and share their own educational materials. However, we believe that almost everyone is ready to use materials that already exist. Our workshop is directed precisely to this majority. Our goal is to show them how to distinguish between open and copyright protected materials, and to show them specific benefits of using OER (eg. the benefit for the school’s image).

“Open lesson” workshop consists of several modules that can be selected and set accordingly to the needs and nature of the group. These modules are inter alia: an idea of openness, an overview of links to repositories of individual subjects (this one requires an adaptation to national context), search of the resources (several versions of this exercise), and FAQs about OER. For example, if a leader of the workshop would have a room with several computers available, he or she could choose to use the extended version of the exercises, if the group will consist of teachers of one subject – he/she could choose to use less extensive list of links to discuss with participants, and if he/she would have to deal with a group of more advanced (diagnosis can be based on an included survey conducted before the workshop) – would include a module on creating and attributing educational materials.

W Polsce głównym wydarzeniem w ramach Tygodnia Otwartej Edukacji są Otwarte Lekcje – warsztaty prowadzone według scenariusza przygotowanego przez Centrum Cyfrowe i Stowarzyszenie Otwarte! we współpracy z nauczycielami i ekspertami edukacyjnymi. Odbędą się one w całej Polsce, m.in. w: Pile, Cieszynie, Gdańsku, Poznaniu, Łodzi, Sosnowcu, Częstochowie, Szczecinku, Słupsku czy Włocławku, a także w Warszawie. Warsztat może przeprowadzić każdy, kto chciałby zebrać chętną do tego grupę.

Zapraszamy wszystkich chętnych edukatorów, nauczycieli i nauczycielki, trenerów i trenerki, bibliotekarzy i bibliotekarki do przeprowadzenia warsztatu nt otwartości dla swoich kolegów i koleżanek w jednej szkole, bibliotece, domu kultury lub innym miejscu, w którym tworzy się i wykorzystuje zasoby edukacyjne. Celem tego warsztatu jest przede wszystkim zapoznanie danej grupy z ideą otwartości w edukacji i prezentacja prostych, ale wymiernych korzyści, które wiążą się z wyborem modelu otwartościowego.

Czym jest otwarta lekcja?
To nowatorska, modułowa formuła wspólnego uczenia się w grupie osób bezpośrednio związanych z edukacją, przygotowująca także do stopniowego odchodzenia od tradycyjnych podręczników w kierunku otwartych, darmowych zasobów edukacyjnych. Mamy nadzieję rozpocząć przy pomocy tych warsztatów dyskusję na temat przydatności otwartych zasobów w polskich szkołach – zachęcamy wszystkich uczestników warsztatów, także tych, którzy pierwszy raz stykają się z tym tematem do tego, aby podzielili się z nami swoimi refleksjami na temat OZE.

Warsztat ten składa się z kilku modułów, które można dobierać i ustawiać w zależności od potrzeb i charakteru grupy. Moduły te to m.in.: idea otwartości, przegląd linków do repozytoriów z poszczególnych przedmiotów, wyszukiwanie zasobów (wersja podstawowa i zaawansowana), oraz „najczęściej zadawane pytania”. Do przeprowadzenia Otwartych Lekcji wystarczy scenariusz, który udostępniamy na stronie uwolnij.podrecznik.org. Zamieściliśmy tam również plakat z linkami do repozytoriów, który można powiesić w pokoju nauczycielskim tak, aby nauczyciele w każdej chwili mogli sprawdzić, gdzie szukać otwartych materiałów.
