OPENPediatrics as a model for open medical education

← Back to list of events

OPENPediatrics is an online community of clinicians sharing best practices from all resource settings around the world through innovative collaboration and digital learning technologies. OPENPediatrics provides free access to academically rigorous continuing medical education through lectures, guided learning pathways, and interactive device simulators. Our site also connects providers through robust social collaboration tools, including discussion forums, document sharing, and video chat capabilities.

During this webinar, Stephen Carson, the Director of Operations for OPENPediatrics, will lead a live demonstration of our site and our open-access resources, followed by a Q&A session about the program and the place for open medical education. Stephen Carson is Director of Operations for OPENPediatrics, and is a world-leading expert on open sharing of educational resources. Prior to joining the OP team, he was Director of Communications and External Relations for MIT OpenCourseWare, and helped MIT develop its Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) program, MITx. Stephen was the founding president of the OpenCourseWare Consortium (now the Open Education Consortium).
