A one-day meeting entitled “Open Educational Resources and Lifelong Learning: Opportunities and challenges for Higher Education Institutions and Libraries” will take place on 15th March, at the Book Tower of the National Library of Greece (Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center). It is co-organized by HEAL-Link NTUA, National Library of Greece, Hellenic Open University and the University of West Attica. This meeting will focus on the role that Higher Education Institutions and Libraries are called to play in LLL, particularly through the development and use of OER. It will start with an introduction to the framework and the objectives of the event, followed by two keynote speakers that are experts in the field of Open Education globally and a brief (skype) intervention by a EUA officer. Then, cases and best practices on the support of LLL by academic and public libraries in Greece and worldwide will be presented. The next session will be devoted to specific actions and projects towards developing and offering Open Education Resources (open academic textbooks and e-courses) in Greece. Other Open Education and LLL actions will also be reviewed. The event will conclude with a roundtable discussion on all the subjects presented. You are welcome to join and actively participate!
