Free Textbooks?! An introduction to Open Educational Resources
← Back to list of eventsHave you ever considered replacing your course textbook with something more affordable and flexible? In this workshop we’ll talk about open educational resources (OER) as alternatives to traditional textbooks. You’ll learn about the differences between OER, zero-cost, and traditional textbooks, as well as how to find and evaluate existing OER. We'll dispel the myths, talk basics, and explore how you can elevate your teaching practice by incorporating OER into your courses to positively impact your students’ learning experience, and make higher education more accessible, affordable, and dynamic. Facilitated by Cristina Springfield (OER Librarian & Affordable Learning $olutions Coordinator).
