OER and Social Justice

← Back to list of events
As we continue working toward a more socially just global landscape in higher education, it has become increasingly important to come together to discuss and celebrate the core values of open education, including the importance of open educational resources (OER). With continued uncertainties from COVID-19 and growing social justice concerns, our teaching practices and learning environments have become more challenging for our students. With a particular emphasis on equity, inclusion, and innovation, Shinta Hernandez will share best practices in open education, discuss strategies to increase student engagement and student success, showcase examples of OER, and explore faculty and staff professional development opportunities to advance the open education work.
