During the webinar, the two Nordplus Adult projects NPAD-2020/10169: How seniors learn digital skills in the Nordics and Baltic? and NPAD-2021/10187: Digital support, train the trainers will be discussed. A summary of the projects Both projects address guidelines for training the trainers to help seniors facilitate daily life in the digital world, funded by the Nordic Council of Ministers. The first project was organized within the project period 09/2020-08/2021 and the second will start in September 2021 and end in December 2023. Both projects are coordinated by the Summer University of Jyväskylä, Finland, the other partners are from Lithuania, Norway, and Sweden. The aim of the projects are to strengthen and develop cooperation between the Nordic countries and the Baltic region in the field of lifelong learning for seniors, as well as to learn and exchange ideas for teaching digital skills to seniors in different countries. During the first project, participants learned about institutions participating in the project and the digital skills training they provide for seniors. Presentations in the sessions also covered topics such as digitalization in different Nordic and Baltic countries and continuous learning in general. Ideas and knowledge were shared among each other and best practices were adapted to their own work at the local level. During the second phase of the project, the project partners will create an online portal where they will present their best practices for teaching digital skills to seniors. This free and easily accessible portal is aimed at all stakeholders in the Nordic and Baltic countries working in the field of adult education (for seniors). The project work involves both pedagogical staff and representatives of adult students or volunteers (seniors) from each organization. The expected outcomes of the projects are the exchange of ideas for teaching digital skills and topics for new courses. Another important aspect of this project is to find new partners and get the opportunity to continue the partnership in the future.
