The Launch of B.C.’s ABE ZTC Project (Plus What’s Next!)

← Back to list of events
B.C. has launched a first-of-its-kind program: a free-tuition and zero-textbook-cost (ZTC) program for adult basic education (ABE). More than 30 open educational resources (OER) have been created and adapted over the past three and a half years to support learners in this program. In this webinar you’ll hear about the project, the resources created, and the lessons learned and help us celebrate the launch of the ABE ZTC Project. But that’s not all! We will also share some upcoming additions to this program that are in the works. This webinar will consist of PowerPoint presentations followed by time for a question-and-answer period. Please bring any questions you might have about the ABE ZTC Project! Presenters: Krista Lambert (she/her) is a project manager at BCcampus who works on ABE and ZTC health and open education projects. Carolee Clyne (she/her) completed her PhD focused on Universal Design for Learning and aspires to find ways to create inclusive and engaging learning for everyone everywhere. Melanie Meyers (she/her) is a project manager at BCcampus who currently leads findability and open course projects. Her projects focus on creating a repository of open course materials for B.C. educators and other open educational resource (OER) initiatives that work toward eliminating textbook costs for students and supporting faculty in adapting, adopting, or creating OER.
