Using Free and Affordable Course Materials at the University of Manitoba: Panel

This panel discussion will be of particular interest to faculty and teaching staff at the University of Manitoba, and will focus on panelists' experience with using and supporting OER at the University of Manitoba and beyond. At the end of the discussion, attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions of panelists. Panelists Nicholas Harland has been an instructor in the department of Mathematics since 2012, where he has worked with a number of OER texts. Mark Meagher is an educational developer at the Centre for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning at the University of Manitoba, where he has worked to support OER use, while also using OER in his own courses. Brianne Collins Brianne M. Collins is an educational developer at the University of Manitoba’s Centre for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning. Before starting at The Centre in 2020, Brianne served as an assistant professor of psychology at Providence University College and in various other instructional roles at post-secondary institutions in Alberta prior to 2017. Brianne has been using OER in her courses for more than five years. Carley McDougall is Special Projects Coordinator at Campus Manitoba, where she has supported the use of OER in postsecondary institutions across Manitoba.
